FAQ on the Stolen Instruments Registry

1. What will be included in the listing?
The Maestronet Stolen Instrument Registry is designed to showcase stolen instruments from around the world. Its primary focus is string instruments because of their often high value, and unique identities. Also, the majority of Maestronet's significant traffic is specifically related to string instruments, therefore this information is exposed directly to those buying and selling these instruments world wide.

2. How do I list a stolen instrument?
Listing of stolen instruments is open to anyone, including individuals, dealers and insurance brokers. We are setting up an online listing form in the near future, in the meantime you need to download our listing form (an Acrobat document, if you need the Acrobat reader get it here:) fill it in and fax it to us at the number on the form.

3. May I remain anonymous?
Yes. If you don't want your name used in the listing, Maestronet will be the contact, and we will get in touch with you in the event any information is reported to us.

4. How much does it cost?
The initial fee is $50.00 US per instrument and includes:

  • The input and online listing of the instrument for the balance of the calendar year in which it's first loaded. This includes the scanning and online display of a photograph if available.
  • A mention on the Maestronet Showroom page under the news category.

In November of each year a renewal fee of $25.00 is due for display for the next year. If the renewal fee is not received by December 31 the listing will be removed from the system.
