Type: Violoncello
Description: A fine handsome and rare English Violoncello, bearing the maker's label T. Dodd, Violin, Violoncello and Bow maker, New Street Coven Garden, in black lined wooden case. The two-piece back of bold medium flame ascending from the joint, ribs of similar curl, scroll of broader figure, table of narrow to medium grain, the lightly craquelled varnish of a red colour ona golden brown ground, a good example after Amati, in immediate playing condition.
