Geo. Heinl & Co. Limited, Canada’s foremost violin experts and antiquarians, was founded in 1926 by an Austrian born violin maker, George Heinl. The firm , now in its fourth generation, is headed by violin maker Frank Heinl , a member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers. As the firm approaches it’s 70th year of operation, President Frank Heinl continues to carry on this great family tradition with his son, R. W. Heinl, vice-president and secretary treasurer.
The firm employs 15 workers and offers a range of services including making, repair, and restoration. In addition, Geo. Heinl & Co. maintains a large collection of rare violins, violas, cellos, basses and bows, in their continuing effort to conscientiously look after the needs of teachers and students alike.
