About Me

I am the Violin Maker in Residence at A. Cavallo, Violins in Omaha, NE. I can be found there, and sometimes at the Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, PA shop, doing restoration and new making in equal parts.
I studied at the VMSA in Salt Lake City under Charles Woolf and Georg Meiwes before working for Peter Prier, under Sanghoon Lee and J. Stanley Hooper.
I love tool marks indicative of method, varnish work, and carving scrolls. I haven't come to my zen relationship with rough-arching maple, as of yet. My instruments are carried primarily by my employer, and by Robertson and Sons, and are played by amateurs and professionals across the continent.
Whatever stories my former schoolmates tell you, they are making them up.
