Thanks - that helps. I can now murder it with more authority :)

I take it you mean - " then the last doublestop (a/c sharp)" ( end bar 28 ) ?
I presume a typo ?

Geoff

Yep, it is a typo of course - I am a native german speaker and english "a" sounds like german "e" :)

Teleman - Fantasia for solo violin - no 2, Largo.

I'm trying to play snippits of this piece - any tips on what postion one should be in for the last - and I might say very beautiful - five bars.

If you want to play the quavers in the upper voice full length:

1/3 on the doublestops in bar 27, then slide up to 1/3 (g/e) and play the c-sharp with 2.
Then the last doublestop (e/c sharp) with 4/3 in the fourth position. stay there for the f - sharp/d in bar 29, then go down to first position and stay there until the a/c sharp in bar 30, which you must play in the second (or third, but second is more comfortable) position, back to first position for the g/a (play the csharp with the 4th finger and the final bar (31) in the second position with 1/3, (which gives a better Vibrato).
