About Me
I started piano lessons aged six and later took up the violin and viola. After several years at the Purcell School I went on to the Guidhall School of Music in London. My teachers included Emanuel Hurwitz and Detlef Hahn. This thorough training and work as a musician has given me a real love, insight, and practical understanding of the instruments I make. In 1996 I apprenticed as a violin maker to Nigel Harris for two years where I learned 'The Harris Method'. There then followed a further three years of intensive study at the Newark school of violin making. Since moving to rural Ireland ten years ago I have devoted myself to producing top quality violins, violas and 'cellos . My large workshop is an old stone farmhouse near Bantry in County Cork. I sell my work mostly in London, but I can arrange to sell or ship worldwide at request. I make to order : Violins, Violas, and 'Cellos.
