About Me
I opened the Owyhee Mountain Fiddle Shop in 1996, after doing a bit of set-up work and repair on the side. Being somewhat isolated, I learned thru reading books and the encouragement of friends and customers. In the past few years, I have been fortunate to attend workshops taught by Boyd Poulsen, Paul Schuback, and Michael Darnton. Maestronet is another great resource, with folks generously giving advice and criticism.
Most of my time is spent in repair, but I have built a couple fiddles so far (April 2010). You can hear a very modest recording of me (a middlin' player) playing a tune on a fiddle I made at my flickr site -- http://www.flickr.co...N06/4441411503/ -- The instrument had been strung up about a week at the time of this recording.
