Hi All!  The new Contemporary Maker's Gallery, located below the Auction scroll on the main page, is a forum designed to allow makers to share photos of their work for the purposes of comment and critique.  

The idea for the forum springs from the popular "What's on your bench" threads on the pegbox.  Our hopes are that by creating a new forum it will enable makers to continue this tradition in an environment that is dedicated to the purpose and therefore will be more accessible (the threads will be searchable by subject and by contributor).

I learned the news early this morning, and I understand that the information has now been passed along to members of the Federation... and I just received an email from the secretary of the Entente, so I thought it would be appropriate to mention it here at this point.

I was informed that in addition to time with his family, he spent some time visiting with a few friends in the business, looking at photos, and sharing stories about instruments earlier this week.

He will be missed.
