I'm Layne Zuelke and I am a Handplane engraver, woodworker and Cajun fiddle player. I'm also a jeweler and it's that mix of passions that lead my to my work engraving Stanley planes. While working on my first fiddle (still in progress) I was tinkering at my jewelry bench looking for something to use as a canvas to practice hand engraving. I had a small block plane a few feet away on my wood bench and thought it would be perfect. Lo and behold, a new hobby was born. As if I needed more.
I guess someone here was interested in my work so I thought I might post a few photos. I do custom work on a limited basis so if anyone here has an interest, feel free to contact me. you can find my website by googling Cajun Handplanes, or get in touch through the board.
Seeing all of your beautiful work inspires me to work harder. Hope ya'll like the results!
