Any suspicion in the neck being so white? If it is from 1770, and has been played, wouldn't finger oils have seeped in and made the neck at least off-white? Just curious.
It doesn't look as though the neck has been replaced... at least, as far as my novice eyes can tell.

I disagree. I like the body, deep ribs and all.
Does the scroll belong with the body is my question. Well, perhaps question is not the correct word since I think that I already know the answer.

im thinking maybe the scroll is the original varnish and the body was revarnished, it looks revarnished

The advertised violin isn`t a Stadlmann, but a Magnus Anton Fichtl, original in all it`s parts (scroll, pegbox back, front, ribs, varnish). I have 4 violins by this Fichtl, although one of those is
ONLY A REFERENCE OBJECT, OF NO COMERCIAL VALUE, DUE TO A SOUNDPOST CRACK IN THE BACK.
